Senior Manager, Liquidity Risk Management

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting the firm globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, treasury, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable us to deliver sustainable growth.
As the Senior Manager – Liquidity Risk Management, you will enhance the second line of defense stewardship and oversight of the liquidity risk elements of the bank’s activities
Liquidity risk is the risk that a firm, although solvent, does not have available sufficient financial resources to meet our obligations as they fall due, or that the firm can only do so at excessive cost. The Liquidity Risk team is the second line of defense for Treasury Management funding and liquidity activities and processes.
This role requires a deep understanding of best practice and regulatory expectations of a firm’s liquidity management practices and framework. As well as experience and thorough understanding of funding & liquidity metrics and requirements in BAU and through stress scenarios.

You will be responsible for:
- Identifying liquidity risk drivers, assess liquidity risk exposures and monitor liquidity limits.
- Assessing the regulatory liquidity risk requirements including LCR, NSFR, EPS and other internal liquidity stress testing
- Performing sensitivity analysis to understand the impact of new trades / new products / assumption changes on the liquidity risk metrics
- Reviewing the liquidity stress testing process including but not limited to the scenarios definitions that are chosen for the stress tests and assumptions made on liquidity of both assets, liabilities and off-balance sheet contingent liquidity exposures
- Reviewing/maintaining the liquidity risk governance policies, limits, procedures, standards and controls, Contingent Funding Plans, metrics and thresholds to ensure they are within the defined corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and challenging the 1LOD activities and the governance processes to ensure Liquidity Risk taken is in accordance with the approved Risk Appetite and that the proper risk management framework is deployed to measure, monitor and control the risk consistent with overall Enterprise
- Remaining familiar with the regulations and guidance related to Liquidity Risk Management issued by FRB, OCC, FDIC, SEC, FINRA, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision
- Participating in data analysis and support material preparation for regulatory exams and ad hoc analysis including briefings to senior management on risk management issues
- Partnering with control functions (i.e. Treasury, Finance, Risk) and lines of businesses to leverage reports, processes and systems
Requirements
Typically, qualifications would include an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in relevant numerate subject. Qualifications in accounting and/or finance is beneficial.
- Practical experience of treasury/liquidity risk management within a large organization.
- Excellent working knowledge of Regulation YY and Basel guidance in liquidity risk management
- Demonstrable experience of leading with unwavering and courageous integrity to do the right thing
- Experience of working across all levels of an organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level, with good understanding of other areas e.g. Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Operational, Legal, etc.
- Has developed a high level of professionalism and competency which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management.
- Experience in addressing regulatory and audit requests.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of balance sheet, income statement dynamics and capital and liquidity risk issues and drivers.
- Understands the strategies of the Group and demonstrate deep business knowledge.
- Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization;
