Sr. Business Analyst- Agile

The senior business analyst plays a critical role in the rollout of new functionality for this key initiative to build a consolidated global Consumer Risk platform for producing risk management calculations and reports from account-level data for credit card, mortgage and loan accounts.  The candidate acts as a product owner, senior business process analyst, specification writer, data analyst, implementation support resource and subject matter advisor, engaging a diverse set of business and technology groups.  This person must provide business analysis expertise to work as the product owner in capturing user stories in support of multiple epics, work closely with developers on Retail and Consumer Banking risk agile sprint teams to understand and implement the stories within two-week sprints, and provide subject matter expertise in support of all other teams in the effort.  The role requires in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking, problem definition, and development of innovative solutions.

 

This is not a project management position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze and validate requirements through various techniques (data analysis, process analysis, prototyping, use cases, business rules definition, etc).
  • Document user stories according Agile methodology, achieve consensus and obtain sign-off from key stakeholders
  • Follow SDLC process and documentation standards and best practices to produce deliverables
  • Assist the development, testing and production support efforts as needed, providing requirements knowledge and subject matter expertise to the teams performing these functions
  • Continuously improve subject matter expertise in the business areas being supported, sufficient to become a trusted advisor to the business stakeholders
  • Identify, communicate and resolve issues and risks as they arise anywhere in the end to end process
  • Manage requirement changes via a change control process
  • Define the data input, processing/enrichment and output requirements associated with system and data interfaces needed to satisfy the business requirements.  Analyze the actual data, identify/communicate data quality issues and work with other teams as needed to resolve them.

Qualifications – Knowledge/Experience

  • Must be a strong business requirements analyst
  • 7+ years of financial industry experience is required
  • Direct experience (minimum 7 years) in business process, data analysis, requirements resolution, documentation, validation and change control processes is a must
  • Prior working experience with Retail banking or Credit Cards or Consumer Risk is a strong plus
  • Experience (minimum 3 years) working on global projects with stakeholders located around the globe is a must
  • Experience working on projects encompassing both IT systems and business process change a must
  • BS or equivalent degree

  • Agile project experience is a strong plus
  • Must have extremely strong listening, requirements elicitation, analysis and problem solving skills
  • Must have extremely strong interpersonal skills – collaboration across multiple business and technology functions, relationship building and consensus building are a must
  • Must have extremely strong documentation and oral communications skills
  • Must be a self-starter and work productively with minimal direction
  • Must learn quickly and produce under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Must be able to demonstrate functional and business knowledge regarding prior projects
  • Must have strong Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Word skills
