About Our Team
This position will be part of US Equity Derivatives team in Global Banking and Markets Division. The US Equity Derivatives Tech group is a small team based in New York that is responsible for building and supporting key applications that service the Structured Products Desks (US and Global). About the Role
We’re looking for an Equity Derivatives Trading Tools Developer for our Americas region, based in our New York office. The successful candidate will join as a senior technical developer who is responsible to design, develop, test, release and support the US Structured Equity Derivatives Trading Desk. The candidate will work on small to medium-term projects directly with the US Equity Derivatives Trading Desk using technologies such as C#, Python and Excel VBA among others. This includes supporting existing .NET applications & Excel Spreadsheets, as well as developing new applications based on the needs of the trading desk.
About You
You’re an experienced developer, with a technical background – ideally comfortable with some coding languages (C#, Python and Excel VBA). Whilst Derivatives trading knowledge (options pricing and risk) is beneficial it is not required for this role, we can teach this.
You are an excellent communicator, and are comfortable communicating directly with the Trading Desk and internal Technology teams and are able to range up and down the detail depending on your audience. You will handle all phases of development (requirements gathering/analysis through to implementation), establishing solid relationships and trust built on proven delivery.
Learning from operational failures is important to you, constantly asking why, using evidence to prove root causes and ensuring solutions are implemented to prevent reoccurrences.
It would be useful for you to have an understanding of software development lifecycles and modern software delivery principles such as continuous delivery – in fact you may even be passionate about it.
