Murex Business Analyst
Overview:
Major Investment Bank seeks a Sr. Murex Implementation Specialist/Business Analyst. The newly formed IT team is to deliver strategic and tactical development solutions for the Emerging Markets trading desk, the Balance Sheet Management desk, Treasuries in satellite sites locations and business support groups.
The Front Office Solution platform is based on a Murex 3.1.34 platform with a degree of customization in terms of STP interfaces (from upstream trade capture systems, post trade and static and market data systems) and special valuation models accessed through Flex
Responsible For:
- Providing estimates for Murex work
- Negotiating with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure successful prioritization of competing business and technical requirements
- Technical and Functional enhancement scoping and requirements gathering
- Communicate with the Business, Murex, IT development and support teams to ensure successful requirements gathering
- Translating these requirements into appropriate solutions
- Delivering high quality enhancements and developments for Projects to the systems within demanding timescales
- High degree of organization and discipline relating to task planning, project governance and source code management.
- To ensure consistent architecture and business processes across Sites
- Providing advice and support to other members of the IT team
- Liaise with Murex (3rd party vendor) for core bug fixes
- Help with Go-Live and training to users and Support
- The vast majority of support will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd line as we have a dedicated front line team to support the users. A key role is to ensure this front line team has all the required knowledge in order to carry out their role.
EXPERIENCE (in order of importance)
- 1 experience only
- 6 Years Plus financial development experience in a front office environment
- Knowledge of PnL, Risk, Simulation, Datamart, Market Data
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Proven technical, support and enhancement experience (Java/SQL big plus)
- Multiple full project lifecycle experience
COMPETENCIES
- Detailed Product Knowledge of Treasury Products (Loans/Deposits)
- Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple workstreams running in parallel
- Essentially very strong functional knowledge and a good all-rounder in terms of Murex experience and ability
- Excellent communication, verbal and written
- Good documentation skills
- Keen sense of ownership of tasks given as assignments, carried through to resolution and documentation
- Team player, with a proven awareness of the importance of team working in a fast paced highly technical environment
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure without sacrificing accuracy and quality – this would include working longer hours and weekends
- The ability to motivate oneself
- Investment Banking IT background, as is experience of working in a front office environment
